ABOUT ME
I earned my Master's in Teaching with a focus on technology applied to education from Western New Mexico University. Two years earlier, I completed my first Master's in Latin American Literature at New Mexico State University and obtained a BA in Creative Writing from The University of Texas at at El Paso
Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Spanish at Texas Tech University, where I work as a Spanish instructor in the Spanish Foundations program. Additionally, I serve as the designer and social media coordinator for Céfiro, the graduate student organization.
I have had the opportunity to teach language in Europe as part of Texas Tech’s Study Abroad program in Seville, Spain. I have also taught high school Spanish courses, heritage learner classes, and advanced grammar and writing courses for undergraduates.
Thanks to my experience as a Spanish instructor, I have also worked as a translator for school districts and developed graphic design skills, applying digital tools I have learned over time.
The technology courses I took during my second Master's reaffirmed the importance and necessity of integrating digital tools into my language classes. This inspired me to explore a path beyond traditional language teaching and dive into the world of educational technology.
For the past three years, I have been dedicated to learning, exploring, and specializing in the use of technological tools and the design of educational materials. My goal is to transform second language teaching into a more enriching, current, and innovative experience for students.
It has not been an easy process, but I am convinced there are opportunities to achieve this goal. For now, let’s keep learning.
